Update Your Spring Wardrobe and Look Good By Donating to Goodwill

Semi-Annual Goodwill Sale at Bon-Ton Stores Benefits Those Needing Career Help

By purchasing your spring wardrobe essentials at participating Bon-Ton stores, you'll not only look good, you'll do good for your community as well. Between March 9 and 23, customers who donate clean, gently used clothing and textiles during the semi-annual Goodwill? Sale at any Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Younkers or Parisian stores, will receive coupons toward the purchase of new merchandise.

So, while you're showing off your new spring looks, the items you donated to Goodwill will be generating revenues for job training programs and other community-based services for people with disabilities, those who lack education or job experience, and others facing challenges to finding employment.

Participating customers receive one coupon per donated item 20 items = 20 coupons. The coupons can be used at any of Bon-Ton Stores' 275 locations for 20 percent off regular or sale-price apparel, shoes and accessories, fine jewelry and 15 percent off cosmetics, fragrances and home store merchandise. Certain items, including furniture, electronics and toys, qualify for a 10 percent discount. During the fall 2010 sale, approximately 4 million pounds of clothing and textiles were donated and 1.6 million coupons were distributed.

"Long-time partnerships like the semi-annual Goodwill Sale at Bon-Ton enhance our ability to acquire high-quality donated goods for our stores," said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. "Store revenues support our mission of providing training and employment services that put people back to work and strengthen families."

"The Goodwill Sale is a signature event for our stores," says Bud Bergren, president and chief executive officer of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: BONT). "Customers receive a substantial discount while donating items to an important cause. The Goodwill Sale exemplifies our commitment to the communities in which we do business."
